Dawn's Journal

My Territory!

I opened the fridge door to find ... nothing (well pretty much!) So I couldn't put off a visit to the local supermarket any longer.  Once that was done, and a reviving cup of coffee drunk, I headed home via Shepherd Meadows along the River Blackwater for a walk. I decided to travel light with just the camera and one lens, if you can call a pro-level 100-500mm lens light, and just enjoyed the walk with occasional snaps of the local wildlife.

As usual there were swans, gulls, geese and mallard ducks swimming lazily around the balancing pond. Excitement rose when a family turned up to feed them with some specialist water bird food (good on them for not giving them the customary stale bread).  This mute swan became very territorial and especially took objection to the gulls.
