Missing Hill

A rainy Sunday. I didn’t manage a walk, but a visit at my mother’s house, to find out how the new carer is doing. As soon as I arrived, she disappeared into her room for a break, but later we talked a bit. She’s used to living in the city, and struggles a bit with the very rural setting of the house.

I sat with my mother in the meantime, drinking coffee and reading the weekend newspaper to her. It rained all afternoon, and the clouds hung so low that the usual view of the Taunus hills had disappeared.
