Menage a trois

It's reassuring when the house martins return to breed. No matter how bizarre and unseasonal our weather at least the birds' breeding cycles are predictable.

This picture shows two house martins trying to enter the same nest. What's wrong with that? Nothing apart from the fact that there is at least one house martin already in occupation!
