A walk around Deerness looking for migrant birds. The high-point was at a small plantation where I found two red-backed shrikes, a male and a female. They are just the second and third I've seen of this species. The first was on Auskerry at about this time last year. I hope to get across to that island again next week. It's great for puffins, amongst others.
