Old bridge

We sleep late and have a healthy brunch. Walking “the policies” I see plenty of salmonberry that escaped last years strimming. Fighting our way to the burn, I show Kerry the date stone on the bridge - 1776 or 1778.

Angus’ car is back in the garage, so there are vehicular shenanigans to get through. I get Kerry 2 hours cover and she drives away in the Seat. I go up to Kinghorn to get Angus and all the things he needs to take to work tomorrow.

Then it’s back over the water and down the A68 to Earlston. We try a couple of places on the way to get something to eat, but they are either fully booked or the kitchen has already closed - at 7:30!

We end up at Montecassini’s in Melrose. A good looking place with decent food. And then to Kerry’s for some rest.
