Botanics

A mini blipmeet, organised by @annejohn for the third Tuesday of the month - she said it was inspired by Andrew's Second Saturday Strollers. Edinburgh doing its big village thing as I know Andrew from his previous life as a local politician. Turned out we were just the three today - obviously a weekday daytime meet doesn't suit everyone but the good thing about a regular meet is that as people get to know about it then they can join in if they are around. Wanted to take this view as we took our wedding photos here back in 1996 and the building in the background wasn't there. It might look like it has been there for centuries but it moved here relatively recently - leaving its previous location on Leith Walk, where the Botanic Gardens were until 1820 - and reopening in its new location in 2016.
Forgot to mention there was an exhibition on in the John Hope Gateway on Living Soil which included the Keeper of the Soils cloak I photographed at the community orchard last year, along with photos of other people wearing the cloak.
