On This Day In History
2007: News Corp and N.B.C. announces new internet venture

Quote Of The Day
"The internet has been the most fundamental change during my lifetime and for hundreds of years. Someone the other day said, "It's the biggest thing since Guttenberg," and then someone else said, "No, it's the biggest thing since the invention of writing."
(Rupert Murdoch)

Bonus Quote Of The Day
"The internet is not just a tool, it is an alien life form. Is there life on Mars? Yes, there is, and it has just landed here!"
(David Bowie)

One of the few little momentos of my brother which I bought back from England have proven extremely popular with my wife and kids. We are all united by a love of Star Wars, and this set of stormtroopers has a Japanese link because the three figures are copying the stance of the Three Wise Monkeys depicted at the Tosho-gu shrine in Nikko, a development of the Confucian legend, “Look not at what is contrary to propriety; listen not to what is contrary to propriety; speak not what is contrary to propriety; make no movement which is contrary to propriety.”

Congratulations to Japan on beating Team U.S.A. in the World Baseball Classic. Yay!

Happy birthday, William Shatner.
