Alfie's turn

For a blip. Good news this morning via a phone call from outpatients at the Royal Infirmary: I now have an orthopaedic appointment for a week's time with a surgeon who seems to specialise in the kind of operation that I think I need. That's a huge step forwards. T came to give me a hand with a couple of things in the morning and J is picking up some more painkillers from the chemist. I'm in full invalid mode at the moment, I hope I will manage to get out and about a bit and do a few things before I have an operation, but I will take the earliest date I'm offered.
