Catching the light…….

New leaves are beginning to unfurl on the Climbing Hydrangea on the porch wall. When I’d taken the photo I realised the lamppost looked as if it had sprouted branches.
When 11 beautiful old oak trees in the school grounds were felled way back in 2007, along with many other kinds of trees, to make way for the new school buildings which took the place of the old ones, some of the ones along the boundary were just wholesale lopped and left.
They look rather forlorn, never having much new growth.
They stand like denuded sentinels.
But this made me smile at the accidental juxtaposition of post and tree.
It’s a bit like the tree is making a statement!
