Purple Dead-Nettle

Dog walking this morning - we managed 4 miles and with no rain today! Managed a couple of grab shots with the little pocket camera. First off was this macro of some purple dead-nettle (or red dead-nettle) - there seems to be loads of it sprouting up at the moment.

In extra is a shot of a huge blackthorn hedge covered in blossom…this is right alongside the path that runs by the motorway. In the distance can be seen some hawthorn trees that are just beginning to sprout leaves….there will be loads of blossom on that too soon.

The dogs have hardly moved from their beds/sofa since we got back…the walking is tiring them out and we at least get some peace.
