Evensong

I caught Bramble in this strange, contorted stance as she leapt to intercept a stick that had been thrown for her. Meanwhile Arthur was pondering on how to set free this large branch .
It feels like I’ve been busy all day long but not managed any time on the garden/plot which was my hope for today.
We have managed to get the food shopping done though and Dave has also been to the election meeting plus done some canvassing. We spent the afternoon with Arthur and Bramble playing in the gravel bottomed streams that run through Sunnyhurst woods near where Jess lives . The streams run straight off the moors and gradually converge to form the headwaters of the River Darwen. The steep sided wooded valley is very attractive and full of birdsong plus trees adorned with pink blossoms.
Jess and Chris aren’t getting much sleep at the moment so were grateful for the support this afternoon. Freya had a high temperature in the night and was very distressed, she now has a rash but seems ok in herself. Much of my children’s childhood seems to have passed by in a blur . Watching their lives as parents helps to clarify why I remember so little of my days of parenting young children. How did we do it ?

The extra hour of daylight this evening meant that Bramble and  I  were accompanied by the evensong of the neighbourhood blackbird as we had our final walk of the day. Pitch perfect !

Grateful today for,
The birdsong ,
Time with Arthur,
Paul , the welder being so positive about the mending of our MH Ruby .
