Busy, Very Busy

This female Orchard Spider, Leucauge venusta, was busy constructing her web right smack in the middle of our access to the from yard hose. Her mate was there for a short time, watching her build while I took these photos. He didn't stay around long, probably because he knew that he would most likely end up as a lunch time snack for her.  Check the *extra...
The Orchard Spider is a long-jawed orbweaver spider common from southern Canada to Columbia, along the U.S. East coast and up into the central U,.S. They are also found in South Asia.
Oh, and I forged a new, temporary path to the hose! :)
