First German Strawberries Of The Year

I loved the colour of these and will look forward to tasting some another day. Not eating them today because I've been at the dentist and as always, that was a major carry-on.

I expected to get my fillings replaced and the deep cleaning of my gums. No problem there. What I hadn't expected was the removal of a "tooth fragment". I had a tooth taken out in Edinburgh about 3 years ago, and the dentist at the time told me that there was a fragment left but it "would work its way out". That, I discovered, was a lot of bollocks. The fragment was more like a half a tooth, and given it was one of my molars, it was pretty huge.

So I've been on the receiving end of 4 injections and my face feels like it's the size and texture of a basketball. I've been assured it's not - "more like a volleyball" was the sympathetic information I received.

If you don't mind I'm going to go off and be quiet for the evening. I will resist the temptation to explore the crater with my tongue. I bet I won't get a visit from the Zahnfee either. Zahnfee being one of those rare exceptions where the German term is short than the English - Zahnfee = Tooth Fairy.
