COULDN'T WAIT

I knew we should have gone out yesterday when the sun was shining, but that's the way it goes.

I took G to Ulverston today as he loves to go to Gillam's Tea Rooms (vegetarian cafe, even though we are not veggies) for  his favourite rum hot chocolate and their homemade tea bread with local cheese.

For those that may not know Ulverston was the birth place or Stan Laurel and there are signs for them everywhere, which is rather lovely.  After all they were two of the Greats of Hollywood Comedy.

It was pouring with rain so we just went to Gillam's. into two of my favourite local shops, Brambles and Squirrel and then on into The Market for  him to browse the secondhand book section.

It was too wet to walk around Ulverston really so we decided to go to Manjushri at Conishead Priory and arrived a bit too early for lunch.  So I sat and read my Kindle whilst he browsed the shop and got what he wanted.

It was a good job we had arrived early as the place was filling up fast.  In fact as we went and orderred our sandwiches there were people waiting for tables - I've never seen that there before.  Probably due to the weather as a lot of the dog walkers usually stay outside but could't today - that meant I got to meet lots of dogs - yeah!!!

They are currently re-painting the main staircase area so there were places partitiond off but that didn't matter.  The cafe was still fully open.

After that we just came home, too wet to go walking without full wet weather gear.

That's it for today.  At least we did get out for some fresh air, so that is good.

Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
