East Okemont River

A day that was forecast as fairly wet and I was out early to meet up with other members of the landscape group in Okehampton.  It was raining when we arrived and started our walk up the East Okemont River.  The river was in full flow with some delightful rocks and mossy areas.  The rain came and went as we headed slowly up hill towards the moor.  A couple of us made it to see the waterfall which was quite impressive but a bit of a distance away from the path.  By late morning the sun began to come out for a while although the rain wasn't far away.  An enjoyable time with lunch in the train station cafe.

As we spent some time chatting after lunch we were fairly late heading back but I just made it in time for the bookclub meeting.  I arrived to a cup of tea and cake so great timing as they hadn't yet begun.  It was a fairly lively discussion as so many issues were raised in the book (Human traces by Sebastian Faulkes).  A good but very full day out.

When I eventually returned home my husband was cooking tea , what more can you want.
