Bangor

The car needed a top up and off to Bangor to Sports Direct for the rapid charge point and afterwards onto town for lunch, looking for a cafe recommended by Treshnish, Domu. The pasty was very good along with a borche soup for me, and mushroom soup for John. A bright hum of chat added to the atmosphere in a place of smiling faces. Thank you C for suggesting this.

Around the pasty was a print of words, ‘REAL UKE PASTRY EDGE’, I’m sure the word edge was included although can’t see all the words. The cafe is run by a English/Ukrainian couple. By now we could see people coming in dripping wet and set out to wander the streets to become a pair of drips too. Sadly as with many town centres there are a number of empty shops along the High Street, even empty charity shops.

As with E charge points, town car parking has
different methods for paying the fee, feeling fairly confident today would be fine, I had downloaded the PayByPhone app at home, but no, it wouldn’t accept the password, we have come across this before. Anyway, we scrambled together enough 10ps etc to cover the £2.00 but decided to go and change a £10.00 note for coins from the bank. Hmnn, we could only do this in our own bank, luckily there was a branch nearby. This was all very lighthearted I have to add, the guy in the bank needed my debit card to justify the exchange in order to balance the books. Phew. Trying to keep up with Apps, contactless cards, laws and whatever else can be a challenge, this has to met full on to keep up. I assume there is a reason why contactless isn’t used for all charge points or car park machines, that or cash must cover everyone? Standing in the rain trying use an app only for it to tell me to try again and again is no fun.

Back to the cats to change into dry clothes and warm up.
