Snakeshead fritillary

Today’s blip took no searching out - a little patch of snakeshead fritillaries in my garden have made it through last summer’s drought and winter’s chill to appear all in a beautiful rush. They’ve enjoyed the damp March I think. I love these flowers so much - maybe my favourite of all, although that accolade probably depends slightly on the day. This one would definitely be on my Desert Island Disc plant list (yes I know it’s daft, just indulge me).
