Fire!

I do love a good fire.   this is a small one...we started late after a perfect trip to the island and schlepping all our stuff by hand.   the extras shows the fire-pit space.(from both directions)   When we bought this property there was a small pond here and a pile of logs which got dumped into it and then Rene (the rock/trail builder) made us a wonderful little campsite with fire-pit and benches and tables big and small.  ("like you just arrived from far away by boat and needed a place to sit around the fire")   But over the years the logs have rotted and now it's all sinking and VERY uneven.  And I'm so unsteady.   H got me a chair to sit on and "supervise", after starting the fire,  but the chair even fell over sideways  on uneven ground. (no harm done!)    I liked how the flames looked with the iPhone much better than the Sony.   We got maybe halfway thru the pile of old rotten deck and stair boards that were replaced last summer.   Tomorrow we can finish.   All good.  At least we know the fire won't spread underground as there is water under there.  the last day to legally burn here is friday.
