Daffodils at Cockermouth Castle

Daffodils in the grounds of Cockermouth Castle.

Cockermouth Castle is a grade 1 listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Originally an earth and timber mote and bailey fort, built in 1134.

It was rebuilt in stone in the early 13th century…see’extra’.

It is open to the public about 6 times a year...Ros is one of the tour guides, and sometimes I help as 'tail end Charlie'.
