10 Years at Helliness

A lovely calm day, but horrid mist hanging around all day, and showers this morning.  It did clear in the afternoon, really warm sunshine, and then the mist came back down. 

After a morning walk, I popped by Laura's for a cuppa.  Working late shift in the airport, and what a day!  All morning flights got cancelled due to mist, three made it in about 4pm, and then nothing this evening.  Thankfully two of the charter flights didn't have passengers when leaving, so we nabbed them for our last flights out tonight.  Most away, a few travelling tomorrow.  Off out walkies with Sammy, then might go for a pint in the reopened Scalloway Hotel.  

It's been ten years on the trot, I've made it to the old Helliness houses on the 30th of March.  The old houses have fascinated me all my life, and the old stories about them.  They sure were spooky today in the mist and rain, it really gave them atmosphere, which I sadly couldn't quite capture.  This is the old barn style house, Helliness, Cunningsburgh.
