Red Kite and crow

met up with fellow blipper GillyH for coffee and then we went on to see what the herons were up to at Boxers Lake.  There was no sign of any baby herons but at least one heron seems to be fiercely guarding something in a nest.  At one point a large red kite flew across the lake followed closely by a crow. I hadnt realised until I googled it but they are getting increasingly common in London and are often harassed but the much smaller crows.  The herons were also giving a good display (see extra) but my blip has to be the kite as I think its the first time I've seen one here.
