The weather panned out more in the letter of the forecast than in the spirit. It didn't rain but only in the sense that smirr is not proper rain. Mandy had decided that we should cycle to Edinburgh for Pedal on Parliament. Fair enough. She further decided that I should have Ellen on the tandem. Eh? That wasn't my plan for the tandem. That was for her to drag Ellen around. Ah well.

By Inverkeithing, where we would join up with the group riding from Kirkcaldy, only four miles from home, Ewan's already looking a bit glum. Looked like a bad sign although he actually did really well and cycled there an back - a total of 42.5 miles without much complaint.

And the day itself was good. Whether it has any impact is another matter and not really the point. The point is to turn up and add your wheels to all the others. To make the point.
