Soaked and sizzling

I’m awake early and out of Swindon shortly after 6. It’s raining. All the way to Marlborough, where I park up outside Screwfix, waiting for it to open.

I get a replacement shower house for mum, head back to Bedwyn, creep up the stairs, and go back to bed.

My 9:00 is postponed. My 10:00 is a useful catchup, but nether of us has made progress. Then I set to making a big pot of broth, which is ready in time for lunch. There’s lots more to go in the freezer in small packets.

It rains all afternoon. I take a siesta. It’s still raining. Lamb cutlets and baked potatoes for tea. And then Paris When It Sizzles - Holden and Hepburn in a very silly film, which I won’t be watching again in a hurry.
