Life through the lens...

Spring is bursting out all over

What a difference a day makes.
As it is a Sunday we always try to find a peaceful spot, and so it was a drive out to Naburn Locks for a picnic and a walk by the river.
A glorious Spring day.
Lovely to see the sticky buds of the horse chestnuts bursting open. I spotted a conker on the ground and noticed a small shoot so I have brought it home and will plant it in a pot. Not sure what I will do with it but maybe it will be alright in a pot a few years.

We saw some deer, heard our first curlew of the year, and also spotted our first Brimstone butterfly.

We went to find a new farm shop in Naburn village. Pleased to find it open I bought a bottle of Lemon, Garlic, Oregano, and Thyme Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil.

We called at RSPB Fairburn Ings on the way home. Now that was busy. Didn’t stop long.
Now having a refreshing cuppa.
Looking forward to a few more days of sunshine.

An unexpected card waiting for us on the doormat when we got home.
From our grandson and his fiancé.

We will certainly put that on next year’s calendar!

Also an extra collage of our day out.
