Here we go again!

Pont de Bir-Hakeim

We were woken up this morning by some noisy birds and then lots of cheering for the Paris marathon runners whose route included our street. Because the street was blocked off all morning, we took the metro basically just to get to get across it and to the other side of the Seine to meet our friends for lunch. Lunch, at an Indian restaurant with E, A and J was really lovely and we had lots of fun.

We then walked back through the gardens of the Musée du Quai Branly and along the quais of the Seine. (It turns out that J is right that it is less windy on the quais than walking along the river higher up.) The Pont de Bir-Hakeim, named for a battle in the second world war, ranks in my top three of Parisian bridges, up there with the Pont Mirabeau and the Pont des Arts. (This ranking is part aesthetic and part sentimental :) )

The whole evening has been devoted to filling out forms - curriculum and bursary statistics. Has to be done!
