Early Morning Traffic Jams

To prove that we are dedicated safari fans, we crawled out of bed this morning at 4:00 so that we could be dressed and ready for a 5:00 a.m. departure back to Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve for a dawn game drive.

I felt sure we would see more activity in the early morning hours than we did yesterday in the heat of the day, but I began to suspect all the animals were up late last night partying, because it was pretty quiet out there today.

Nonetheless, we did see loads of zebra as well as a large troop of baboons, some white rhinos, and a large male elephant in musth, who was (a) missing one tusk and (b) not at all happy to have us all gawping at him!

Here’s a collage of various “traffic jams” we encountered on our expedition.
