Derelict Chicken House

A bit of a break from flowers today.

Prior to the COVID pandemic this little hut, and another similar sized one, housed dozens, possibly hundreds, of hens and during the day they were allowed to roam around the fields.

The eggs were sold in a local farm shop…sadly, that business failed to survive COVID…

I expect that the avian flu epidemic has taken its toll and precluded re-stocking with hens. I noticed that a lot of the farm equipment has been moved away and all that is left is a pile of rubbish (in the background on the right)…

I  wonder how long this chicken house will remain -  it seems to have been narrowly missed by a falling tree but I guess it will fall down of its own accord before long…
