Twelve
Breakfast for Bailey and then back to bed for a bit with my book before we headed out for a walk around the big block in the sunshine. Home for a delivery and then for a smart meter to be installed. The last time I had made that booking, no one turned up but more success this time with just a 30 minute wait into the 4 hour slot. It was all very straightforward and done in about 90 minutes. Ironing, packing and the lawn mowed this afternoon and even a bit of time sitting outside finishing off my latest book. A favourite crime writer and a favourite detective and it didn't disappoint, finished in record time for this year, even for a holiday. The bench cover came off whilst I read but went back on again as rain is forecast whilst we are in the west and it really needs some attention before it is exposed to the weather until the autumn.
Last job of the day was a trip to the vets. I'm still waiting for the news that Bailey's levels are stabilising and we are still not there yet. He'd lost weight at a slower rate than recently but his glucose levels were still far too high. We saw a different nurse to usual and one with personal experience of diabetes in a border terrier. It wasn't perhaps as reassuring as she intended and we are booked in to be back next week.
