The 'Garstenmolen', Nigtevecht

The Garsten Mill in Nigtevecht.
'Nigtevecht' = 'Nich-tuh-vekht'.  I keep forgetting to explain that the 'ch' in Dutch is not the same as the 'ch' in 'chirp'.
The Vecht is the river that runs through the province of Utrecht, and flows through the city of Utrecht itself.

This is another one of the mills along that long, winding, NARROW dike road running parallel to the Gein, a canal tributary of the Vecht.  Unlike last time, it was now facing the road and the sun.  I was able to park in front of one of the gates leading to the soggy fields and wetlands, and walk on one of the slightly squeashy polders to take shots.  This mill was built in 1876 and is situated in the village (actually more of a hamlet) called Nigtevecht.  It is not exactly open to visitors at any time unless one makes an appointment.

Four windmills in a row.  It is difficult to resist the lure of a fair weather day.  Fortunately, my schedule was loose enough to give time for yet another fabulous drive.  What made it even better is the fact that many have apparently already begun with their Easter holiday, leading to less jams on the motorway.  There wasn't even any need to consult cloud radar as there were simply no clouds.  Tomorrow will unfortunately be grey again, but, then, I have a full day of back-to-back lectures, plus the catch-up meeting with Guilford Guy.  How these things work out sometimes amazes me.  Thankful for hunting opportunities that do not clash with other schedules.  After the hunt, on the way back home, I passed by Pre-Natal, a baby shop, and bought some presents for Guilford Guy's new addition.

Moose texted me that his head is too muddled at the moment and so he won't be dropping by.  We both told him to take his time.  Poor man... and we cannot help him at the moment.  We can only offer comfort, knowing that that isn't enough.

After tomorrow, a 4-day weekend.  Always thankful for 4-day breaks.  4-Month breaks would give me no cause for complaint either.  If the weather turns sunny again, I think you'll guess what I could be doing.
