Witley Church

Continuing yesterday's blip of the 1st Earl of Dudley we went out to Witley Court to visit the church.  The Great Witley Parish Church didn't open until 12noon so we paid a visit to the nearby tearooms for a drink as we waited.

The inside of the church is totally amazing.  It is described as Britain's finest Baroque church.

I talked to one of the volunteer gusrdians regarding the resting place of the 1st Earl of Dudley.  Apparently he was buried in the crypt, though following the great fire of 1937 and the deterioration of the church, though not directly affected by the fire, the coffin was moved to Worcester Cathedral.   Apparently he is buried next to the monument.

On the way home we stopped off at Top Barn for a coffee. Whilst there we visited the rabbits and the days' old chicks, see extras.
