Lake Villarica

We were back on the road yesterday for a long drive and late arrival in the little town of Villarica which sits around a lake of the same name, surrounded by spectacular mountains. We passed through Puerto Varas and along the beautiful Lake Llanquihue.

This area is Patagonia’s northern Lake District with several stunning volcanoes. People love to climb up the Villarica Volcano but it’s a really tough one. So the Explorer and I have pragmatically decided a quiet weekend ahead enjoying the views of the volcano over the lake will suit us just fine.

Wishing you all a happy long weekend.
