Easter Hunt

The big day dawned and it was sunny. We've been unbelievably lucky with the weather for our Easter egg hunts over the years.
Ali and Josie arrived early so Josie could have her nap here. Katy, Jon and the girls and Stuart all arrived at about 1pm. We had such a lovely happy time out in the garden in the sunshine. The girls, as you can see had dressed in style for the occasion!
I have a system which means that the best hunter doesn't go off with all the goodies. They each have their own colour of eggs etc and if what they find is not of their colour then they leave it where it is. We found everything this year unlike a few years ago when I was still coming across the remains of eggs on June! (I also count what goes out so we can keep a check)
Josie very quickly got the hang of what was going on and didn't need anybody's help to pick up the egg or bunny and put it in her bag after a while. She didn't notice that her eggs kept disappearing from her basket for her to find all over again! Her squeals of excitement were wonderful. The big girls had a good time too and enjoyed watching her have fun.
We adjourned to the dining room for do it yourself sandwiches and toasted bunny shaped crumpets!
Katy and family left just before three as they were having another hunt with the children in their local area. They live in a cul de sac off a cul de sac so no passing traffic and the group of children all know each other well and enjoy such events. It's a Multi-cultural group so they have all sorts of celebrations!
I went for a lie down in a darkened room!
