Painful Walk

After scouting it out last week, I took the 44 bus up to the edge of the Pentlands to check out Red Moss at Bavelaw. A sunny morning, but with a snell wind and the clouds scudding through the welkin (if I may wax poetical ;)
A nice walk and a treat at the bird hide. I heard an incredible commotion outside, and opened one of the shutters, expecting to see a fight between about three different birds...instead it was this wee Sedge Warbler (Acrocephalus schoenbaenus) giving a virtuoso performance; check out his song on the RSPBpage!
On the walk back to the bus stop, there was an intense hail storm. It stung!
M made a delicious chicken curry for tea, though... that warmed me up.
