Praying mantis

It was good to find a brown praying mantis, rather than the more usual green ones in the garden. This one was in the wollemi pine and quite well camouflaged. In spite of that it was no longer there when I checked later in the day. Either it found a better possie or it became a meal for a critter higher up the food chain. 

The holiday weekend is drawing to a close. Happy start to the week.
