Last walk at Knepp

Fairly early, before the long but amazingly traffic free drive back to Bristol. We spent ages watching the storks - mostly up in their huge nests high in the trees, but one was on the ground feeding, it’s huge fierce orange/red beak stabbing into the ground in the wet areas.  I imagine it was looking for frogs and insects. I’m afraid I don’t have the camera to get a picture, but I really encourage anyone who is able to to go for a walk there.  Incredibly beautiful now while blackthorn blossom is in every hedge there. Most are already open (see extra) but I liked this of the buds just about to burst, and the masses of lichen too.
