Here's looking at you!

Into Bolton this morning first the library to return their books and get some more out.  I found a sequel to 'Le Petit Prince'.  I took it out and have actually read a few chapters!

After the library we were off to the Bolton museum and started with the aquarium.  The above are Lake Kurumoi Rainbow fish Melanotaenia parva from Papua New Guinea.  These have all been bred here.   They also had quite a few spotted black and white rays.  Some little ones born during lockdown.  Also a rather big cat fish! etc.

Then we had a look at the Egyptians and then the art.  I liked a small picture by Barbara Hepworth  - Fenestration - The Magnifying Glass, stage 2.  One of a group of 6 paintings made in 1948 (oil and pencil on board. It was done after she watched a series of operations carried out by an ear, nose and throat surgeon.

Then it was time for lunch and we went to the Octagon restaurant.  The food was excellent .  Eldest ate all hers but youngest didn't and is hungry now!  I had leek and potato soup and ate bits of pizza that Ro gave me and that youngest wouldn't eat!

A quick go on the kids dodgem cars - they were fun!  Just the pair of them!

Then it was home and we arrived just before the rain!

Now they are making necklaces and bracelets.  Eldest is making a few for friends and no longer needs help to do it.  They are lovely!  Youngest made herself one that looks great too!

Time to make some food!!
