Look Out!

A pair of tree swallow defending their new home for the summer. There seemed to be a lot of interest and many rivals keen to stake their claim.

Although there were periods when the birdhouse remained unguarded, the couple always returned and harassment resumed. Mainly, would be usurpers circled overhead, then swoop in, averting their flight path at the last second.

There was so much activity and so fast paced, it was hard to keep up with it all. I found it easiest to keep my lens on one spot and wait for the birds to land. Trying to pan and follow them was hopeless.
