Up and Out

The Buffalo Sabres NHL hockey team was officially eliminated from making the playoffs tonight with only 2 games left in the season. When the season began, there weren’t any expectations of making the playoffs so getting so close was bittersweet.

The back is feeling much better so far. The procedure pain is gone. I’m almost feeling spry (that’s an old person description word, right?) Thanks for all of your kind well wishes.

Tucson has broken two consecutive heat records. It’s not supposed to get up to 99°/37° until a month from now. It’s a shock coming after the colder than usual winter and early spring we’ve had.

I’ve seen some hedgehog cactus flowers blooming along the main road but none in the neighborhood. I need to have a closer look around. Nothing is blooming in my yard, but at least it looks like my salvia and pistache tree have survived.

EDIT: They won their last two games. Had they won just one more of the 82 they played, they would have made the playoffs for the first time in a long time.
