Artist at Work

Simona was our classmate this week. She is a professional artist and her area of expertise is religious icon paintings.. Byzantine style. Her clients are churches and private patrons. Her work is AMAZING! She decided to expand her art form to include Byzantine mosaics. Mike and I were learning the more “rustic” Roman mosaic. It was interesting to listen to two artists (teacher Tiziana & Simona) discuss art and fascinating to watch Simona create her Byzantine mosaic…note all the gold tesserae. The extras are Mike and I working on our third and final pieces.
