Quod oculus meus videt

Half Moon

The moon is still visible in the sky well after sunrise at the moment.  It makes capturing an image easier, though I still put the camera on a tripod to minimise any movement.  Some acuity is lost because of the warmth of the atmosphere.

I've been following a local astronomical society who often post amazing close ups of the surface, well beyond the focal length range I have available to me.  As ever, when you see such amazing detail I want to try to do similar, but I imagine the kit being used is expensive, not to mention the dedication and skill needed by the user to achieve those sorts of results.
