Spiraea 'Arguta' Bridal Wreath

A happy and productive day. I’ve made a dozen cards, which required a lot of fiddly die cutting but was very satisfying, and then we had a lovely unexpected visit from our daughter-in-law and youngest granddaughter, who had come to see us while Daddy took our middle granddaughter to the cinema to see the Super Mario animated film. They then drove here and joined us, and we all had an impromptu lunch together.

After the family went home I did a basket full of ironing while Smithers roasted a chicken. I took this photo in the garden late in the afternoon – the sun was out, and our robin was singing his heart out up in the oak tree above me. The spiraea bush is just coming out in all its glory, and in the background you can see the blue tones of some Siberian Bugloss plants, which are in already in full bloom.
