Sharing plate

Intercambio this morning -- quite a lot of people turned up, but initially there were only two Spanish people. Schoolteacher A got everyone into line though, splitting us into smaller groups and distributing the fluent Spanish speakers around the tables.

After that, briefly home to check up on locked in Mystère and top up his food -- then we headed to our favourite beach. On such a sunny Saturday I suppose we shouldn't have been surprised to find the large car park full, but we created a space for ourselves.

Last time we were here we noticed the Bola Marina was open. It's not as charming appearance wise as the Barraca, but the food is better so we'd booked a table there. A lovely spot in the shade looking out at the beach. The waiters are very obsequious -- perhaps they feel they have to make extra effort to compete -- and as you can see presentation of the food is fancier. Here's our shared dessert, somewhat carelessly creatively photographed on the phone by me. A lemon meringue tart with mandarin ice cream.

Afterwards we sprawled on our sun loungers for a siesta, and I went in the sea ... up to my knees. I thought the cold shock of swimming would be too much after lunch. It was so warm we stayed until six o'clock. As we left, a wedding party was arriving ... they already looked slightly the worse for wear, but had sensibly hired buses.
