Walking with purpose

A busy morning helping JJ remove the worktop which sits on top of a small cupboard and the washing machine.

Problem 1.
When the kitchen was fitted, the plug to the washing machine was put into the socket behind the cupboard and is only accessible by removing everything from said cupboard and taking off the backboard.

Problem 2.
When the new boiler was fitted, the engineer drilled a hole through the worktop to feed the condensing pipe into the washing machine outlet.

Two problems to solve.

JJ had to chisel out the hole to turn it into a slot and remove all the brackets holding it so that I could push it out when JJ lifted the worktop.  It took several attempts but it's off.  He has also had to create another small hole in the worktop to accommodate the new washing machine power lead, which can then be fitted into the socket above the worktop.  No idea why the kitchen fitters didn't do that in the first place.

In between all that, I've dug out two frost damaged plants under the lounge window and tidied up the border.  New plants needed.  I've also been watching one of the robins lifting moss from the lawn for her nest, so I helped her by tearing up pieces I'd dug from the border.  She found them in no time.

Covid booster booked for Saturday afternon.
