House on crutches II

Plenty of sunshine today with a keen northerly breeze. At the allotment was hot and cold at the same time. Another little bit done.

This afternoon’s walk took longer than expected as we kept meeting people along the way and stopping for a chat. Not as long as it’s taking for these houses to be built though.

There was a stiff fight to oppose this development as it’s on a flood plain and all the neighbouring houses are now overlooked by some quite domineering buildings.

The developers had their way of course although they had to spend a great deal of money in flood mitigation measures and residents will have to pay to continue maintaining the defences.

They’ve been building here since before the pandemic and the end game seems a few years away yet. I wouldn’t want to buy a house there. Planning certainly favours the developers especially when they have deep pockets and influential lawyers.

A great ukulele workout for me tonight with Uketok and I can here Susan banging out the chords downstairs
