Cherry Avenue

What could have been a most frustrating day ended up being only mildly frustrating. Having a funeral in a crematorium chapel everything would be set up ready in terms of music and photo displays.

In the our church this is not the case. We were up against a few technical barriers. The ancient sound system takes only iPods not iPhones. There is no screen to display a slideshow of photos.

We’ve borrowed a TV and were able, eventually, to connect it to my laptop. We have an old iPod which still works. I had to make two trips back home to get various bits of kit to connect everything up.

The mildly frustrating part is now I have to synch the iPod with a very elderly iTunes computer to create a playlist for the music. Then we have to work out who is going to tap “play” on laptop to show the photos in the correct place in the order of service.

Earlier we’d been to the solicitors to get the will. As Doreen had nominated them as executors with Susan they won’t give it to us until a Deed of Renunciation removing them as executors has been signed and paid for.

We didn’t even get offered a coffee but I did come away with one of their pens seeing as we’re giving them a few hundred pounds to renounce their executor role.

Seeing as we were visiting the church I was expecting to blip the building as a contribution to wide Wednesday. I wanted to include this fabulous Cherry Avenue with the building. It was not possible and it’s the avenue on its own for you today.
