Mrs Chaffinch

Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), female.

I spent a while today in the hide at Gaddon Loch (Fife) but most of the action was taking place too far away for blippable quality images. There was a male goosander and a pair of great-crested grebes on the loch.

The swans on Birnie Loch now have a proud family of TEN cygnets - wonder how long they'll last.

In the end I decided to blip this chaffinch feeding nor far from thee car park.
It seemed pretty adept at shucking sunflower seeds.

Here is a link to one of the grebes with an anal propulsion unit!
