Quod oculus meus videt

Weston Birches

I was at Weston Park on council business today, inspecting the borehole and distribution network that supplies water to many of the buildings in the park.

Afterwards I took a few minutes to walk around with my infrared camera.  These trees are always good value with their white bark, but the contrast the IR provided with a deep black sky makes them stand out even more.  While there some work was going on with a majestic cedar tree in the grounds of the small church on the estate.  Sadly it is diseased and was in the process of being cut down.  To give some idea of the challenge they had brought in a crane to handle the larger pieces of trunk and branches as it was lowered to the ground.
