Colin Stetson - Spindrift (2017)
This piece was played by Gideon Coe on his Radio 6 show on this night. He played a session recording made for Radio 6 but as that is not available this is the album version, from All This I Do For Glory.
As with all other of his albums, All This I Do For Glory consists of one-take, non-edited recordings that follow what the album's official press release describes as a "dogmatically stripped down approach to performance and capture," depicting his circular breathing technique. Spindrift involves experimentation with intervals and sound layers, featuring dissonant sounds and percussion from keyboard taps.
