Life's Little Moments

The weather finally cleared enough this afternoon that we headed out to Jackson Bottoms Wetlands area, a favorite place to walk and observe wildlife.  Unfortunately, many of the trails were under water but we still managed to get in a couple of miles.  Lots of birds, several garter snakes and these adorable Townsend's Chipmunks.  They are just a bit different than our Eastern Chipmunks; the most notable difference being the ear size (Townsend's are bigger).  Still completely adorable.  And I'm putting one of the garter snakes in Extra just because it's beautiful and looks quite different than the ones I see in NJ.

I can scarcely believe that it's time to head back to NJ tomorrow.  But it's been a really nice visit and I'll plan another trip again soon.

We had dark with almonds and sea salt today and it was delicious.
