Meet Munni
We went here today. And if you clicked on the link, you'll have seen that Sonja is now Munni.
I did ask her. I said "Do you want to be called Munni?" and she said "miaut" straight away.
After that, all that was left was just a bit of paperwork. And 20 minutes later we were on the way home with a very chatty little girl with us.
In the flat we expected her to scoot under or behind a sofa. She was having none of it. She was off round and in everything. Chatting all the while.
The chatting brought Moot downstairs. He was, as I'd expected, a little bit surprised and awfully curious. He's been trailing her around everywhere. And happily, there have only been a few instances of fat-tail-flat-ears-hissing. But I'm like that most weekends :-)
Munni is nearly 2. Came from a couple who had no time for her. She's here now and we have time for her.
Sad story of the day. And I mean this is REALLY sad - skip it if you don't like sad stories.
The Animal Shelter where we got Munni is since 2007 home to 2 tigers. They're called Natascha und Ghandi. And obviously, they can't be adopted. They were found in a car park, left in a wagon belonging to a circus. I think that's hideous enough. But. They can't be integrated into a group of tigers in a wildlife park or a zoo. Because those bastards in the circus had removed their claws. They are effectively stuck in the Animal Shelter. A very nice Animal Shelter but one bounded on all three sides by autobahn. It is no place for tigers, nor poor cats or dogs.
On a lighter note, three years ago today I arrived in Germany for the very first time. How my life has changed.
